Carbon Lume
CarbonLume is developing a patented technology that turns methane — a powerful greenhouse gas — into valuable clean-energy materials. While most methane elimination efforts focus on simply venting off or burning the gas, CarbonLume’s light-driven process converts captured methane into battery-grade carbon nanotubes, an advanced material used in next-generation batteries and electronics, while also producing clean hydrogen as a co-product.
The TICAN supported project combines climate innovation with advanced manufacturing by transforming harmful emissions into useful, high-value products. By treating methane as a resource rather than waste, CarbonLume’s technology has the potential to reduce industrial emissions while supporting the growing demand for clean energy and battery technologies.
